Watching a bit of Stitch! to hide from eBay horrors.

I have a question: one of the show's running gags has Gantu watching a dorama. They show a bit of it at the beginning of Episode 14 (above). Anybody know if a title is ever mentioned, and if so, what it might be?

Oh, cute. Wikipedia says that the show's full title is "BeniBara Otome" (roughtly, Maiden of the Crimson Rose). Hamsterville (sp?) refers to it as "BeniBara" (Crimson Rose), which is presumably a take on the popular nickname for Rose of Versaille (BeruBara)

Er, not quite... it's more like the writers made up a show whose name sounds vaguely like Rose of Versailles, but instead appears to be about a young lady called Beniko/Crimson (possibly Crimson Rose). I can't tell from the Wiki whether the show-within-a-show has any plot similarities to Rose of Versailles, or if they just used a sound-alike name

Yes, I *do* get the distinction. Really. I know I'm quite thick sometimes, but maybe not QUITE *that* thick. -_^

And as for divining a "plot," you see bits of it like 2 or 3 times spread out over the entire series. I mean like, 10 second bits of it. There's a girl in period dress and swordsmen and people talking in very DRAMATIC voices. I've never seen the lead chick actually *wield* a sword, so it's not 100% RoV (and the costumes actually strike me as more Victorian), but that was what flashed through my mind, not being able to pick up the dialog. I also know it makes Gantu go into fits, which is the most awesome thing.

Heh... I'm still kinda muzzy-headed from the cough syrup and flu meds*, so I wasn't sure if I was communicating coherently.

*I feel like I should make some sort of joke about watching The Prisoner while doped up, but.

Aw, hope you feel better! There's definitely *something* going around out here as well. Plus they still haven't gotten the swine flu shots. My boss got one, because she's a doc, but she can't even get one for her kid. Such a disaster!
