and it's too bad you won't open it to send us all stitchy postcards.

also, I am curious - on what do you base your decisions on whether to order Stitchy stuff? Or do you just order it all? Are there some sort of paramaters a Tiki must follow?

I could not POSSIBLY order it all! It's just crazy! It would be like getting every single Star Wars item ever made. I mean, we actually have a couple friends who do JUST THAT, but they've literally built huge warehouse structures on their properties just to hold all their *stuff*.

I mostly just get what amuses me, so the sillier the better. Because I am an emotional 3-year-old, I have an especial fondness for Stitch bathroom stuff (as you'll see in a later post). I adore action toys, although I'm getting a bit tired of Stitches that walk around and fall over to the tune of "London Bridge." I've been trying to collect everything in more limited domains. For example, I've been attempting to buy all the Big Figs, but Japan has not been making that easy of late, as they've had a new one nearly every month so far this year. I'm also a sucker for anything that relates to specific local culture, so Stitch in a samurai helmet, I'm there. I started out trying to get everything I could get my hands on for the Stitch! anime, but I think I've already given that one up!

There's also an element of friendly competition/one upmanship with some of the folks in the Star Wars collecting community, since they ALL know who Gus is. When somebody new meets me and goes, Oh, you collect Stitch, isn't that cute, and gives me a little head pat, I whip out pictures of my four Stitch surfboards and the Stitch television and watch their eyes just fog over.

If I could find a not terribly expensive retail source, this is one I'd love to buy multiples and send 'em to everybody I know. I have a lot of LJ buddies (like [livejournal.com profile] sinderellah who are totally crafty.

I would use it in my scrapbook! Especially for that Japan trip I have yet to take (I've got stickers already because I worked in a craft store and when we closed I stocked up)... :B
