Soybeans, or edamame, are a recent trend in Japan. Why? Um.... Dunno.



Anyways, looks like our little blue friend has got his head stuck in some bean pods.

Oh, and here is a Japanese soybean toy.

Do you mean edamame toys are recent in Japan? Edamame as a food has been around for a few centuries.

I mean edamame as a pop culture phenomenon. Fish eggs have been around forever too, but it was just a couple years ago I started seeing those scary Tarako Kewpies and even worse Tarako Kewpie/Stitch hybrid thingies come to steal our souls.

I love that infinite bubble wrap toy, but I'm afraid I'd never be able to stop popping!!
