I need your expertise!

A friend of mine is an actor and on the set of his show he found a pillow with a Star Wars tag on it but he doesn't know why its considered a Star Wars product.

He thought I might know what it was and tried his best to describe it to me. I am stumped (though he is getting me a picture) but I figured if anyone had a guess, it might be you folks!

Here is what he asked me :

Star Wars Question for Roddo. Ready? We can't figure it out.
In a show I'm in, there's a prop pillow. It looks like a Black and white checkered pillow. Some of the squares are slightly convex and the others are slightly concave, but for the most part, fairly standard checkered appearance. in a few of the white squares there are blue "icons" - not to be confused with "logos". I've never seen them before, some of them look like 2 "+" symbols others just look like squiggles or splotches of blue. Almost like hieroglyphics. However, there's a "Star Wars" tag on the pillow. One of the "new" star wars tags - y'know with the multi-red "explosive" background with the standard "Star Wars" font. We can't figure out WHY on Earth this is a star wars pillow. Asking you is the most research anyone can do, so my work is now done.

Any ideas?

I'll bet when you get a picture those "hierogylyphics" are various symbols known by Star Wars nerds, ie, for the rebel alliance:

I suggested the aurebesh, (and actually sent him the same link lol) but he said the symbols didn't look like those.

Maybe I will wait to see the image he is going to snap for me tonight so I can get a better idea.
