Item #6 in this baffling article, "Ten Things a Girl Never Wants to See in Your Room" is an image of Mr. Tikistitch's complete set of vintage Star Wars action figures. They are not currently in our house, as they are on loan to the EMP Science Fiction Museum. However, they were definitely located in the charming Mr. Tiki's room whilst we were dating. One wonders, what kind of "girl" would not be hella impressed by a complete set of vintage Star Wars action figures (in mint condition!!), and further, why the hell one would invite such a pathetic creature to their room in the first place?

Beh, much of these sound... teenaged. Gasp, no prescription bottles! For shame!

While yesssss, I'd probably leave if someone had a bare mattress (gag) oh noes... aquariums?

Uh...

Dude, most chicks would totally love a chinchilla. They might get distracted from the sex, but last I checked, adorable little animals tend to have a positive effect on women. Just a generalization, there.

Yeah, my sister and her ex had their apartment basically filled with aquariums. I'm wondering if the girl who wrote this has actually ever dated anyone?

I wouldn't want to see dirty laundry, garbage, cockroaches, overflowing ashtrays, porn, bad records, ugly-ass faux French wooden furniture... But Star Wars action figures (and other toys and collectibles) are completely acceptable. They're even girl magnets in my book. But maybe I'm a geek, so my opinion doesn't count.

I'm kind of wondering who the heck this was supposed to be written for: some kind of complete narcissist who doesn't want a guy to have *any* hobbies or interests at all to take his mind off her? Like, ew.

I have to wonder also, because if I saw a similar display, I'd be highly impressed.

EVERYONE I know would be all, "OMG, vintage Star Wars action figures! And, you have the important variations!"

Then, "OMG, do me!" LOL.

Srsly! When we were dating, Gus brought some of his fave action figures and ships over to my place so I could have a diorama of the speeder bike chase from ROTJ.

Somehow not surprised that they're run by AOL. Also, their site looks like crap in my browser. But yes, the feistiness in comments is good.

Did you see the Stitch TV I left for you on Facebook? I told S. you might well have already seen it. Man, it's expensive...

No, I didn't see the link! We spent the weekend out in the woods away from Intarnets. Yes, I think I'm actually gonna try and order that spiffy Stitch teevee! Runatown had a cool Stitch humidifier last year that I totally missed out on.

Hold on, let me make sure I counted the zeros right ... yes ... that's $1,083.00 at the current rate. o_o

Well, it does have chomping action and all. Hee!

I think this is written for the kind of girl who spends a lot of time thinking about her nails and reading magazines with articles in them about applying eyeshadow.

IMHO, using the word "thinking" to describe her gives her too much credit!

Ha! I would HOPE the guy I'm dating has a collection like that. That's awesome.

Geekery is sexy.

I know, right?! I read that article too.

I would be terribly impressed by a complete set of Star Wars action figures. As Jeff does not have them, I am instead terribly impressed by his extensive collection of other action figures, even if I don't know what all of them are from and McFarlane really isn't my thing. (But then I'm only beginning to explain who all of my dolls are, so we're good.)

Also, he's an MOCer and I'm a "debox as soon as possible and destroy the collector's value ASAP". Like Romeo and Juliet in a way? Or something?

Also, what's wrong with weaponry? Well, fake and/or sci-fi weaponry. Real guns would make me go "Ew. Do not want" but the picture is a freaking katana. Katanas, lightsabers, or phasers are all good.

They had a companion article for "Ten Things a Guy Never Wants To See in Your Room". The only one that stuck in my mind was "More than one stuffed animal". I'm not nearly as much of a stuffed animal person as I am a doll person, but I have an awesome griffon and some dragons and Stitch and a half-elephant half-tiger monster with bird wings and a half-giraffe half-leopard monster with butterfly wings. (I found the bizarro monsters at thrift stores in and around Bremerton and Tacoma about four years ago when I lived there last. They were for some advertising dealie for a bank or an insurance thing or something. They're AWESOME.) Oh wherever shall I go? Whatever shall I do?

Golly, I guess if we're going by how the media tells us relationships would work, we're all just screwed.

I guess on one of the Star War boards they were trying to come up with "10 things a guy never wants to see in a girl's room" as a reply. You know, like letters from her ex boyfriend from prison. Gus and I were trying to think of things. and I think I won with "A framed picture of Vice President Cheney, signed, 'Love, Uncle Dick.'"
