I remember working at TimeCon '88, Majel had a panel where she was going to reveal the first information about Star Trek 5. The panel room had been cut in half, however, because the "Japanimation" (as "anime" was called then) people had been kicked out of their hotel room.

They had six people in their half of the room watching some action series or other, in Japanese.

I had a line of more than a hundred wanting to see Majel, even after my half of the room was full.

Majel agreed to wait until I could convince ConOps to come take a look at the situation and close down the Japanimation people. It was more than an hour wait, I think. I kept going outside and assuring people that we'll get them in.

ConOps didn't remove the center wall, but seated people in the other half of the room and gave Majel a microphone connected to overhead speakers in the other room. So the latecomers didn't get to SEE her, but at least they could hear her, and were most grateful.
