The Disney Store in Japan has started issuing unique Stitch plushies for the opening (or reopening) of new stores. They often have a local theme. Though we think Tanuki is pretty widespread.



See? He's got the store name on his butt!

I considered that as well, that it was perhaps a discreet way to avoid their placement.

But then I remembered how shameless the Japanese must be to have designed a yokai that fights with its testicles to begin with, and dismissed the thought. XD
