To Habu or Habu Not

We originally got this shirt because (if one can believe what one gleans through a translation program) it was produced to promote the Stitch! anime series.





We're thinking this is a hibiscus. We've been learing a lot about Okinawa lately!



The fun part was seeing the tags: the shirt is from a company called Habu Box.



It's also written faintly on the shirt itself.



Habu is actually a deadly snake that like to slither around Okinawa, but evidently the natives think it's pretty cool.

No that's not a hibiscus; it's an Okinawan "Hanagasa" hat. It *IS* however, supposed to resemble a flower, so you're real close.

You can only see the bottom where the "ear handles" loop around the dancer's ear but you can see a sample here.
