These also are related to the Stitch! anime currently running in Japan. This is from a company called Run A.

We haven't seen any of Angel in the episodes we've seen so far, but we like the depiction of her in kimono, and this one, riding a Fu Doggie.

And to Stitch. The inevitable depiction of Stitch playing a Sanshin.

(Or whatever it is. Somebody will inevitably correct us.)

Here's some of Stitch enjoying the local foodstuffs.

Pineapples are supposed to be an important crop in Okinawa.

We think this may be Stitch with something called a "bitter gourd."

(At least, he's sticking his tongue out for something.)

And here's a few bobbles of Stitch playing with the local wildlife.

Turtle is his friend.

And another Fu Doggie.

(Though there's probably another name for it.)

This is the "bonus" piece, Stitch making friends with a snake.

Though, he doesn't look terribly pleased. Love his expression.

It's either a sanshin or a shamisen and I've never figured out how the hell to tell which is which, or which my favorite pudgy-by-Japanese-standards folk-pop singer Natsukawa Rimi plays (see Youtube).

And that's totally bitter gourd/bittermelon/goya. C. likes it, which rapidly earned him fame at the Chinese deli around the corner (half of whose Chinese employees don't even like it). My Kyushu friend's dad grows it (Kyushu has a lot in common with Okinawa sometimes.)

Fu dogs are technically lions and are called shisa in Okinawa (closer to the Chinese name) and something else in the rest of Japan.

And stuff. The last one is hilarious.

I can never tell sanshin vs. shamisen, but this being Intarwebs, someone inevitably pops up and clarifies.

Thanks for the confirmation on the bittermelon. I think I also have some Stitchie cell mascots holding that item.

I think the snake is supposed to be a habu, or the Okinawan pit viper. It doesn't look like one, but I think the hiragana on the base says "habu."
