This is a set of "action" Stitch toys loosely based on the new anime series, Stitch!

Firstly, this is a series of candy toys (there's a sad little sugar pill squished into the bottom of every box).

Fortunately for tiki's sanity, it's not a blind box series, so you can buy them all at one swell foop!

And, no, that's not a lump of polka-dot poo Stitch is chasing, it's a snail! So there!

And on the topic of action features: the Stitch on top of the house rocks back and forth about 1/10th of a centimeter. It's not terribly exciting, especially when you consider the kind of complicated construction. Most happy meal toys that are a lot more fun.

Oh, and one twist to this series: every single insert is different! We'll probably get bored before we show you all of them though. (Can you tell we're a little so-so about this set?)

So, before we get too crankity, here's one of our favorites, Stitch with what we think is called a Sanshin.

Really nice deatail. Oh, and if you're wondering the action feature is that his head bobbles.

This is probably the cutest of the set: Stitch relaxes on a bit of cut pineapple

Yeah, there's a bit of a scaling issue (unless it's Pleakley's Pine-normous).

This item might actually be based on a specific scene of the anime, where Stitch gets into trouble by devouring a fruit stand.

Yuuna is nicely understanding. The anime Stitch seems to be even hungrier than the original version.

Finally, Stitch surfs!

Do they surf in Okinawa? We have no idea!
EDIT: OK, in case you're interested, here is the Okinawa Surf Update!
Oh, and both the pineapple Stitch and the basket Stitch rock back and forth, and the surfing Stitch pivots around. As we said, not terribly thrilling.

Date: 2008-11-20 10:29 pm (UTC)I have the bobblehead one inside the clear plastic display box of a hula dancer doll that I got, so she can have some music to dance to (okay, it's not a ukelele, but it's kinda close...).
What's interesting is, in the pineapple one I have Stitch's ears are kind of relaxed and a little floppy at the tips. On the one you show here, his ears are as upright as always! Oooh, I got a rare variant-!
