So, this is one of those Stitch dishwear sets in a box that they make like a zillion kajillion of in Japan. We grabbed this specific one because, amusingly, the mug looks like a beer stein. Stitchie beer, heh.

So, anyways, there's the mug (which is actually ceramic) and then the little wicker basket-y thing. Our question is, what's the leetle basket for? Seems like it's too roundy-bottomed to be a coaster. Does it cover your beer? Does it hold your peanuts? Ashtray? WTF?? (Alternatively, if you honestly don't know but still can't resist bloviating, please be creative, e.g., "It's a high tech wicker beret to prevent the CIA from transmitting thoughts into your brain!")

Oh, and here's a CU on the label. It just mostly says "Experiment 626" over and over and over. Like, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Hee. This is a pretty fun set.
EDIT: As it turns out, this isn't a mug set at all, it's a planter!!! See comments. Thanks,

Date: 2008-10-29 05:30 pm (UTC)I've actually seen a mug with a ceramic cone filter that says (according to the translation program) it's a Stitch "herb tea set."

It actually looks like your set.
