Depends on which version you're talking about. The original one had four international birds and they chattered about and introduced some pretty birds and flowers that sang, and then all the partying angered the tiki gods who started a thunderstorm.
The WDW version in Florida slapped on a new "Under new management" label and used Iago and some other Disney film bird I don't remember. It was REALLY REALLY hoakey; I went to it once and never went back.
One of the things I like about this overlay is that the only HUGE change they had to make was with the introduction of the Stitch audio-animatronic in the center (where in the original show, the water fountain rose up to the top). The birds have been renamed to Hawaiian names (although their name selections are REALLY odd; if I were doing one for an American audience I'd try to use actual real Hawaiian *NAMES* instead of just Hawaiian words--like "Hau'oli" in Hawaiian means Happy. I would just use names like "Keoki" (Jeff) and such to make it easier). The birds have new name plates, and they used some black light paint to paint the "graffiti" on the walls.
From what I could tell, they also installed a Stitch "arm" among the flower beds, but other than that it's new dialog and new recording of EXISTING Stitch music.
In other words, it would be SOOOO easy to adapt this to the American parks.
Stitch's Great Escape has been SUCH a disappointment. It would really be great if they could import this to California and Florida.
According to the Wikipedia page, this is actually the THIRD go round of the Tiki room at TDR. Hope this one sticks around long enough for me to catch it! I have only ever seen the original as we didn't make the "under new management" show last I was at WDW.
You're aware that L&S dolls are inside It's A Small World in the HK park?
