I think I'd have to be very careful and use it only for bookmarking book and such.

My bookmarks are always whatever scrap of paper is closest when I need to close the book. I'd loose them if I called them bookmarks, just because they'd be cursed like that. But maybe I could artfully arrange them on a bulletin board so they *look* like they're bookmarking things? xD
