Free stuff yay!

Tikistitch is a devoted fan of Stuffs, and nothing pleases us more than to receive in our chubby little hands unexpected Stuffs, ie, gifts. In the endless sunny season between Christmas and Tikistitch's birthday (which are a mere three weeks apart), they give us the strength to go on.
Thus we were dumbfounded to experience yesterday what we shall term Free Stuff Saturday! Yay!! First off, we received an autographed CD from a close personal friend of Mr. Tikistitch, the boogilicious Meco!!! Yes, Mr. Monardo is still teaching those of the Star Wars generation the ins and outs of Da Funk. We also received, in Meco's own words, his inspiration for his new opus.
Much to my surprise, I was hastily summoned before the Jedi
Council recently. I had been inactive for several years, and naturally, was
surprised to hear Master Yoda say, "Very pleased is The Council with
your missions to spread the Boogie throughout the galaxy. You have taught
well the humans of Earth - The Droids - especially R2D2 and C3PO - Even
the Ewoks have you taught!! The Boogie is strong in you, indeed. One
final mission have we for you. Go you must to Kashyyyk. For there
find you your greatest challenge - the Wookiees! Chewbacca will greet you
and assist you. But stray not from your mission, for boogie they must.
Now go..."
Soon, my favorite singers, Peter, Kim, Yamira and I were indeed on
Kashyyyk. After talking to Chewie and watching the very uncoordinated
Wookiees try to boogie, I knew Yoda's prediction of the enormity of my
task was true. The Wookiees had no feeling for the Boogie. None -
Zero - Zip!!
My first task was to get them to understand that they must "make
it funky". I kept repeating this mantra over and over again while they
were learning, but to no avail. My singers pleaded with me to forget
it as it was obviously a hopeless cause.
Then it occurred to me!! If I could teach Chewie how to say "make
it funky", then the other Wookiees might feel more comfortable and get
on down with the boogie.
It took many long and frustrating days, but finally Chewie
learned to say "make it funky" and sure enough, the progress from that point
was wondrous!
So I recorded one of the songs they learned. In it you can hear
Peter, Kim and Yamira singing and Chewie saying, "make it funky" -
just as I taught him. It received wondrous applause when I presented it to
Master Yoda and the Jedi Council. So now my mission is complete - all
the Galaxy is boogying - and no one is boogying harder than Chewie and
the Wookiees!!
Extra points to Mr. Monardo for including a funkified version of our favorite "lost" Star Wars song, Lapti Nek.
But wait, there's more!

We also received a box from our favorite dealer of Japanese Stitchiness, containing this fabulous personalized Stitch name tag/pin combo from Tokyo Disneyland. We shed a tear of joy, as one of the constant banes of Tikistitch's life is finding personalized items, our proper name having been subsumed underneath a pile of Codys and Madisons and Courtneys.

AND if that wasn't fabulous enough, Mr. Tikistitch then gifted us with this chubby cute Burger King pull-back Super D Millinneum Falcon. And it has been even extracted from the plastic, for playing goodness.
AND AND, we got to see Sith for the FOURTH time!!! We want a pet Wookiee!! Oh pleeeeease....

Date: 2005-05-22 11:38 am (UTC)It's cool that Meco is still around and still funkifying the universe!
The cover illustration of that CD reminds me that, some years back at Marcon, there was a huge batch of excellent SW cosplayers--notably a whole flock of Stormtroopers and a Darth Vader, but also a really great Han Solo from Episode IV. The guy even looked like Harrison Ford. And they all went to the late-night dance (there's nothing funnier than half-a-dozen Stormtroopers all dancing in a pack), and I'm sorry to say I left before I had a chance to ask Han Solo if I could dance with him. That would have been way cool.
