But, we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

[livejournal.com profile] fushigikb spotted these 'zines at her local purveyor of Japanese goodness.

Of course, since they're Japanese, you also get exciting prizes, like cards, and this Stitchie case for your DS.

And this one's got....well, we're not quite sure.

But, it hold pens. Or, something.

It's what's inside that's the real prize....a genuine Lilo & Stitch manga!

The chara design is totally adorable. Jumba and Pleakley are adorable! Nani is adorable too!

And it goes on for a couple more pages.

If there's any interest, we could be persuaded to get off our fat tiki butt and actually scan in the whole thing, to a non-eye-squinty size. Especially if some of you folks who actually read Japanese wanted to help the rest of us bozos understand what's going on.

I'd love to see the non-eye squinty size to make icons of the cuteness! xD

I'd love to see a full scan of this! I know some people who can translate it. (They also translated Cloverfield/Kishin the manga).

It's pretty darn awesome seeing Chibi-Lilo and all the others as well as Stitch in manga form.

Very cute. Although the incurable geek in me wants to know if the manga is faithful to canon. Is Nani canonically a bad cook?

Yup! They've made fun of her cooking both in the movie (when Cobra Bubbles first visits their house) and on the TV show (eps like Frenchfry come to mind). As the TV show progresses, you see Jumba and Pleakley taking on more cooking duties, although Jumba's food evidently has a tendency towards abnormally high radiation levels.

Y'know, I picked up another issue of Nakayoshi, and the latest chapter of the "Magical Dance" manga features Stitch. Although he's not drawn as cutely as he is here. I'll make a few scans for comparison's sake.

I like how, in the first panel shown, Stitch is reading a book entitled "Cake."

oooh how nifty, with a capital K!

I'd definitely help translate it, 'cause I'd end up reading it anyway -- might as well write down the translations as I go...

Oh, that's interesting! I like that they're at least consistent with the cartoon about Stitch being heavier than water. I have a number of Stitch licensed goodies that picture him swimming.

KB thought that was cool too. Given that the end of Lilo & Stitch shows him baking a giant birthday cake, maybe it's a recipe book?

FWIW, I put it all up. It's only 8 pages, with it doesn't look like a whole lot of dialog, so I'm hoping you smart people can tell me what's going on.
