Tikis in space

So, 'twas time again for the monthly 13-step meeting, ie, Star Wars Collectors Anonymous. Unlike many other such similar groups, we have thirteen steps, because, at the very last, we realize we have a problem, and we don't care!!!!

So, off to the east side, where we caught sight of a very unusual collection....



OMG NASA space stuffs!!!!





Jake's collection comprises of space stuff from the beginning of the Mercury program, through Apollo, and just to the first flight of the Shuttle. In other words, when space was awesome cool



Here's the heart of the collection. These are NOT model rockets, nossir. Thesea re all various rocket models whipped up by actual NASA contractors.



Which means several of these items are either insanely limited or OOAK.



Oh, and a lot of it's signed - he's met a lot of the astro-guys, and he even met the comedian who played Jose Jiminez (if you read or saw The Right Stuff, you'll know the connection).



And he says Buzz Aldrin's kind crazy. But, Buzz did deck that moon landing-doubter guy who stalks astronauts. Which everybody thought was totally cool.



Here's the item we really wanted to steal and take home with us.



Astro-gum!!!



Oh, and even the bathroom is cool!



It's got the Jetsons collection.

There wasn't a lot of Star Wars on display. Actually, none at all. But, none of us cared.

Niiiice!

I gotta re-read _The Right Stuff_ someday. I suspect it'll be a whole different book now that I'm an actual grown-up. (Kinda.)

If you remember the little bar that Chuck Yeager and the "right stuff" aviators hung out in near Edwards AFB - my great uncle used to play piano there.
