So, here's a goofy deal they have at the Dizzney parks that we'd been slobbering over for a kazillion years and finally bought. After several days in Dizzney bliss, your resistance to pulling out the old credit card for overpriced stuff you really don't need slowly breaks down, kind of like a prisoner of war, only fun.

So, they have a tame Dizzney artist do a sketch of the character, and then you squooge down the size of the sketch, and make it into a watch!

'Twas a perfect dealie for tiki, as we're mad for watches. And at OOAK, you can't get much more limited.

The price starts to really skyrocket if you start adding colors, so we kind of went with this two color sketch, but it's pretty adorable. We also understand that you can literally have such a thing commissioned, though, for that, you have to be patient, and we're not. But we like Santy Stitch as a totem, 'cause he looks like he'll bring us lots of Stitchie presents.

The artists who do those watches in the park all have their own reference book, and some people have definite preferences (I guess if you ask them a lot of questions you will find out which artists specialize in certain characters--although they are all proficient in all of them).
So each time they punch in for their shift, they bring out their own reference book for you to browse.
One thing about those watches--be very gentle with them. They aren't really designed to be worn everyday, and the biggest problem seems to be that the glass cover cracks. It's the same problem they have with a lot of the other boutique watches they sell. Mr. Polk and I probably went through 5 or 6 Disney watches from those watch shops that wound up with cracked watch faces, and we don't play football with them or anything.
