OK, Tom DeLay, head of the Repubs, who's been making great hay over the Schiavo case, actually had a sadly similar story in his own family: his pa was gravely injured, and the family decided to pull the plug, since he would live as "basically, a vegetable." (I guess the Schiavo case is completely different, since, they got the psychic dude from Crossing Over to declare that Terri is still just fine under there.)
Here's Irony #2: Pa DeLay died on some kind of homemade elevator/tram dealo that they'd cobbled together themselves (the Times describes them as tikerers). The family of the Great Purveyor of Tort Reform then promptly SUED the manufacturer of one of the parts on the tram, for actual and punitive damages.
Wow. Just, wow. Go read the article before they stash it in their pay archive or something.
