Squidometer

So, for the last several weeks, tiki has been mightily intrigued by this sign....

No, not the Yukon, this part!
And so, we hied it down to the Burke museum this lunchtime for a close encounter of the cephalopodic sort.
We were ever so slightly disappointed. There were some squidz, but all, alas, in jars. They didn't look terribly happy.
They were running a way cool video about squidz. These crazy scientists were trying to raise teensy baby squiddies! Oh, so cute. Please, Mr. Tikistitch, can we have a baby Architeuthis? We could raise him in the bathtub! I think he'd get along just fine with the Stitchies.
Oh, and there was this...

The Squidometer!
There was also cuteness to be had at the station where little kiddies could write their ideas for a squid-spotting device. And then, they could send their little scrawlings in to the real scientists, who would be momentarily distracted from weaning their baby giant squiddies by adorable kiddie drawings of squid detecting devices.
There was a nice book available at the gift shop, also titled "In Search of the Giant Squid," but we didn't buy as we believe we've seen it on remainder at that darned awful U bookstore.
We did get this:

The squid quiz! Test your squidosity! Sample question: "Fill in the blank. It's easy to exaggerate the size of giant squid because...." Boy, we could spend all day on that one!!
