Here's another--pay attention to the background--the whole orchestra is dancing.
And, for no other reason than to prove that EVERYTHING WAS COOLER IN THE 60S.....

ZOMG DRUM SOLO!
We are sad. Mainly since we've been spending far too much time this week watching MTV in HD (since, ya know, it's in HD!), including, most crushingly, the stupid video awards.
Tiki was sad partly because we've gotten to the age where out of all the soooooper-famous and fabulous people listed in the opening credits, we only recognized Paris & Nicole (which would send anyone spiralling into depression), and because Lou Reed looked bazillion years old, but mainly because, ya know, the hip hop--WTF?
We mean, is any of it good any more? With the crushing exception of Sexy Back....

....which is basically, artistic pretensions aside (Justin f'in Timberlake with artistic pretensions WTF???),
magnificent trash, where has there been any decent rap musicianship within the TWENTY FIRST CENTURY?

It's fallen to a bunch of track suit-clad millionaires pretending to be street and bellowing "'EY" like some 5th generation Fonz clones. And...Shakira? A friggin' BELLY DANCER? Aaargh, kids these days!
Kids? you need help.
Tiki's new rules for musicianship:
1. Wear spiffy suit (hopefully w/skinny tie). If your music isn't even worth dressing neat, then it ain't shit.
2. DANCE! (And, no, chicks in biker shorts grinding in the background DO NOT COUNT.)
...or, wear really thick glasses.
...or, BOTH!
