Many years ago, on one of the obnoxious rightwing newsgroups that Mr. Tiki used to frequent (my beloved spouse was perhaps the original Liberal Troll) one of the denizens referred to Dan Quayle as one of the "leading intellectuals" of the Republican party. i shit you not.
