Long-suffering readers of this blog are no doubt familiar with the recent spate of remodeling at Casa de Tikistitch, which in our minds culmiinated with this,

Meet our new little friend, all the way from Down Under.

This L&S board was evidently OOAK, and was a contest prize in Australia. It's pretty darned long--even longer than our other board (thus the board that barely fit in our Honda).

It's almost impossible to fit the thing in one camera shot, though we tried by standing on various chairs.

Unlike the US version of the board, this doesn't have images of Lilo & Stitch, just the familiar film logo.

Plus a smaller logo down on the end.

The butterfly pattern, on the bottom side, is evidently some kind of siggy for the maker.

Here's his signature. 7'6", making the board bigger than tiki!!!

Is this different than the one they had when the movie first released? I just wasn't willing to spend $1,500 on it.

Oh never mind; my eyes glazed over at the photos and didn't notice your textual description!

I dunno where you pulled the $1500 price, but I got it for less. A LOT less. ^_^

Yep, that's the logo of Nick Pope Designs, a surfboard maker in Perth.

Ooh, pretty! It's notably different that the characters are gone from the board but it makes up for it in the purty, artistic hibiscus flowers that are only hinted at in the U.S. one. :)

By the way, the UK Disney site finally put the "Santa Stitch" plushie up: http://disneystoreshopping.disney.co.uk/ProdDetails.aspx?id=28883&catid=2&k=1scatid=201 but I'm slightly disappointed. The one in the actual stores has much longer hair and his ears are DOWN, not up. (I know this cause I had to go to the City Centre today to pick up some towels and stuff and popped in the Disney Store). I'm not sure if they sell a different version on the Internet, or if they didn't have flat-eared Stitch at the time and just took regular UK Stitch and put him in a Santa outfit. Cause I have regular UK Stitch and he looks suspiciously like this one. But I figured I'd let you know regardless that it's on the site and if you call the UK Disney people they might be able to let you know if they're selling a separate Internet version or if they simply didn't have lowered-ears Stitch available for the shoot.

... And this is why I'm happy you're on my friends list cause anyone else reading this would be like, "Wow, Marnie, you're nuts." :P

Ugh, the link doesn't work. But if you go to disney.co.uk and hover on "shop" and "disney store" and click on "new arrivals" you'll see it.

Thanks!!!! I've just asked our buddy in France (the one with the humongous Predator statue) if it's ok to get the stuff shipped over there (they want an address in Europe).

And i'll wager the one on the Intarnets is the exact same one you saw in the shop.

Ya know, looking again at the picture, and again at my Santa Stitch, the guy in the picture looks identical to the Santa Stitch who was available at euro Disney stores last year. Hmm.

Oh, I didn't know you lived in Oz!! We didn't get out to Western Australia, to our great disappointment, even though we got to spend a lovely 6 weeks touring your country some years back. We need to get out there next trip, as our good buddy Mark also lives in Perth.

And you're right, it's an awfully long plane trip. We flew straight to LA, and it was something like 20 hours. AND we were stuck in the smoking section!!

Ew, stinky! Yep, I do! You definitely need to come, it's lovely here. I know a few people here, too. Well, that didn't come out right... I know a few people from the net here, too.

My trip on the way to the US was Perth-Brisbane-La-Vegas and it was 30 hours because we had two 5 hour stop overs and 3 plane changes! Urgh!

On the way back I was luckier as it was only 23 or so all up. Course I was by myself and LAX decided to have a power-outage so that was pretty bad. I think I need a vacation from the plane ride(s) alone!
