I think it was originally just chris g., and it kind of snowballed. Word is, this was planned at the last international Star Wars reunion, in Banff. I dunno, I didn't get the memo! ^_^

Lucky Pouch? Not so lucky for the poor bloody 'roo. But the kangaroo industry is Very Useful. Meat for cats, gourmet meat for people, fur and leather and so it goes. Why didn't Mark bring you those kangaroo front legs on a stick? Now they are classy :P (the idea is you use them as backscratchers).

Hee. Indeed.

I suppose I shouldn't tell you this, as you'll probably despise me forever, but Mr. Tiki and I actually dined on 'roo burgers when we were in Oz. For this, we received considerable scorn from a vegan staying in the same hostel (who in turn earned our derision as she was munching on a vegemite sandwich--alas, helpless yeast!).

If I laugh and throw up at the same time, will I die?

Despise you? Not in the least. I have eaten Skippy myself. Kangaroo meat is promoted as better for you, lower fats etc, and so, being the good little Aussie housewife/battler that I am, I bought some and tried it. It made me gag. I really don't like the taste, coupled with the GUILT of "I am eating Skippy" keeps my plate kangaroo free. Same goes for croc, emu and goanna. I would eat them if there was nothing else, but this country has had 200plus years of making sure there was "something else" to eat, so I doubt I am in any danger. :)

In my nobler moments, I try and eat vegetarian...but I am weak and carnivorous. Mea culpa!

Viva la Vegemita!
