Surrender teh kewt!
Jan. 26th, 2006 10:02 amStitch's eeeeeevil plot for World Domination Through Rampant Cuteness continues to stomp through our living room....

This is from the Dizzney store online, so no bitchin' about how only the Japanese get cute stuff!!

It's a music box too, though we can't identify the tune. It's probably the only musical Stitch ceramic we own that doesn't play "Aloha Oe."

This scene didn't actually occur in Lilo & Stitch, but was depicted on one of the "photos" on Lilo's wall shown during the end credits. It's a favorite for collectibles, 'cause it's so darned adorable 'n stuff.

The little duckie in the globe rotates back and forth when you wind the key, as if he's reading along.

Awww, cutie face!

Since we had the Japanese big fig of the same scene nearby, we decided to snap a quick pic so you could compare.

Date: 2006-01-27 05:30 am (UTC)Secondly, things are getting financially drastic here and I'm gonna put my Cardcaptor & Sailormoon goods up on ebay. Interested? I could cut you a volume deal... ^_^

Date: 2006-01-27 10:03 am (UTC)If you have a list of the anime items you want to sell, I'd be glad to forward them around to some friends. But it seems like everyone else I know is trying to thin their collections at the moment, so I'm not sure that would be a help--you might actually have the best luck with eBay.

Date: 2006-01-27 04:17 pm (UTC)I saw a website with some of the 1st season SM paraphanelia I have for $150(!!) but if people are thinning their collections due to the economy maybe it would be good to wait...otherwise it would be good to sell quickly!! :P

Date: 2006-01-30 01:39 pm (UTC)Plus I don't like musical mysteries! Heheh... When I was at WB, I asked Richard Stone about a "windshield cue" that was used in the 1990s cartoons whenever some item or character was smashed against the windshield of a vehicle. In that case it was an original tune by his colleague Steve Bernstein that Stone used as an in-joke, he said. I still wonder where the tune originated, which could explain why Stone used it in the situations that he did.
(Myself and one other person on the old alt.tv.animaniacs newsgroup had compiled a list of all the "cue tunes" that played whenever a certain action was performed -- e.g., I Dream of Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair when characters slept; Carry Me Back to Old Virginny whenever a character was carried.)
