Stitch's Great Escape

In case you are so unlucky as to live outside the Stitchiverse (i.e., in close proximity to Orlando, Fl.) you might not have heard that there is a new Stich ride opening at WDW, Stitch's Great Escape. From early reports, pictures and videos, the animatronic 626 looks a tad scary!

Anyway, this was a card that was evidently distributed to members of the press, publicizing the ride.





When you open the card, it's 3D, and Stitch babbles something in Alien.

Oh, awesome! When we were at WDW last year for our honeymoon (mid-December), the Backstage Tour at MGM Studios mentioned that there'd be new rides at all the parks over the next few years, including "a roller coaster called Experiment 626".

I'm curious as to how different the final product is from the sketchy description we were given then. :)

From what I've heard, the ride is pretty close to the ride that used to be in the same location (something like "Alien Encounter"?) only with a big animatronic Stitch plopped in the middle. You sit around a theater, they turn out the lights, and Stitch "escapes" and makes mischief.

'Tis true! I just don't update it any more like I should. I recently switched over to a new company, That Hosting Place, so hopefully my friend who works there can help me get things organized a bit better.

Ack! When we went to WDW, the Alien Encounter ride was "closed for refurbishing", so we never got a chance to go on it at all!

We got to go on the virtual version (? I think there's some sort of virtual ride that ties into the Alien Encounter one) at Disney Quest, but it's just not the same. :(
