Still unpacking. Wanted to share a Japanese crafts book for kiddies that we picked up, for obvious reasons.

Here is why we always take Mr. Tiki along Stitch shopping:

So, we were wandering around the Store of Random in Sendai, and we'd just passed up the row of cutie Disney chara clocks, thinking we just didn't have time or space for them. Then Mr. Tiki remembered, in our hurry, both of us had neglected to pack a travel alarm clock! It was therefore necessary to find and buy the cutest alarm clock possible! (Since, it was Japan, so there is a certain kawaii factor.)

Of course, then we couldn't decide on which was cutest. So, we kind of got them all.

"But Mr. Tiikiiiiiii," we whined, "We're not sure we have rooooooom for it, and it's ceramic so it'll probably get broken, and we're tired of shopping, and our feet hurt, and we're hungry, and full of angst about the situation in Georgia!"

"You should get it," said Mr. Tiki.

"Oh, OK," said we.

Had a terribly pleasant meet up with Miss [livejournal.com profile] avalonjones this weekend. Showed her some of the latest tidal wave of Stitchiness to hit Casa de Tiki. Unlike many of our plushie items, this was not a UFO catcher prize, but merely another item from a Japanese department store. We were both puzzled by this item, a riotously stylized plushie. It's not a purse or a pajama pillow. We decided to dub him, "Road Kill Stitch," and be done with it.
