I want candy

We're not quite sure what Dizzney marketing meetings are like in Japan (we've long suspected they involve ingestion of substances with hallucinogenic properties) but it looks like one of the themes for Halloween-themed Stitch in 2007 is "candy." We have some items of Stitch as candy, but first, this one.



We think these were crane machine prizes--Stitch and Angel are dressed as Witches, but instead of broomsticks, they're riding around on the world's biggest Mallomars.

So many questions

Sometimes, we'll see auction listings in Japanese, and just be so puzzled, that we have to buy it, just to see, ya know, WTF?

And then sometimes, we receive the item in question, and it only adds to our confuse-itude.

We have a lot of similar cutie boxes now. Usually, they hold Stitchie wine glasses, or the like.

1. Name five favorite movies.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Lilo & Stitch (duh!)
3. Nightmare Before Xmas (like this one better every year)
4. The Kids are Alright (yeah, it's not really what you think of as a movie, but I really can't go for too long without John Entwistle shooting his gold records, and it's even cooler now that Mr. Tiki actually has some real gold records)
5. Yellow Submarine (especially now they've added back Hey Bulldog)

2. Name four areas of interest you became interested in after you were done with your formal education.

Wow. This is a toughie because tiki was in school for so goddam long! I'm gonna read this as "stuff you do that wasn't connected with your formal education."

1. Lilo & Stitch (this one actually fits the actual question, but only because the movie wasn't out yet)
2. J pop culture (this one was probably tied in with the collecting, since I would actually, for instance, buy a bunch of Sailor Moon dolls before I'd ever gotten to see the actual cartoon)
3. Travel (this one's partly a consequence of meeting the well-traveled Mr. Tikistitch)
4. The whole Star Wars thing - not really just collecting, but more having houseguests for a month because of Star Wars and traveling to Mongolia with a bunch of collectors and having to buy a home that has enough room in the entryway for the Death Star and having a panic attack because our mailbox place turned away Grand Moff Tarkin's pants and just the whole strange ball of wax that has become my life.

3. Name three things you would change about this world.

1. Free parking spaces downtown always yay! Or at least a reliable light rail that goes downtown--is that too much to ask?
2. I wanna be able to beam down places like in Star Trek so I'll never have to untie my boots and take out my laptop for airport security ever again in my entire life in order to travel some place cool where the beer is better.
3. Friday afternoons shall be declared cocktail hour at every workplace.

4. Name two of your favorite childhood toys.

1. Barbie dammit. But that was back when she was all pouty and cool. Barbie now wants to be your friend. Barbie then didn't give a shit.
2. Dunno if it's considered a toy, but my first stereo. Gawd I loved that thing, and it probably set me off collecting, as I soon had to have every cool LP ever in the whole universe, but that's another story. It was one of those horrible things where you had to stack your record on a changer and it would WUNK down and get all scratched up. I think I spent my entire adolescence wearing headphones. And this was before iPods, so you had to be within like 3 feet of your stereo system with big klunky 'phones on your head.

5. Name one person you could be handcuffed to for a full day.

Hrm, probably Mr. Tikistitch, though I'd probably end up really really really tired, as he doesn't seem to sleep.
