Why do we collect Stitch?

Here is one reason.

We are in the middle of doing not just one, but two hair-pulling projects for boss #1 and boss #2. Nothing we've tried along the way has worked the first time, or the second time, or sometimes even the 11th or 12th time. And the data sets are such that we don't realize things are not working for sometimes 5 mintes or 10 minutes, at which point we have completely forgotten what we did in the first place and have to go back and retrace our steps.

And, did we mention the P hats?

At which point, boss #3 emails and write, "Golly, why don't you just squeeze in this eensy teensy leetle additional mini project whilst you have all those nifty 90 second gaps on your hands waiting for projects #1 and #2????"

Wherein we tell Boss #3 that, yes, we totally could squeeze in a third project, and then make totally sure to do them completely and inevitably ALL wrong. At which point, people will yell. Including tiki.

Like the rest of you, we've been reading stuff like this all week:

Mattel recalling more Chinese-made toys

WASHINGTON - Mattel announced recalls Tuesday for 9 million more Chinese-made toys, including popular Barbie, Polly Pocket and "Cars" movie items, and warned that more could be ordered off store shelves because of lead paint and tiny magnets that could be swallowed.

The recalls came nearly two weeks after Mattel Inc., the nation's largest toy-maker, recalled 1.5 million Fisher-Price infant toys worldwide, which were also made in China, because of possible lead-paint hazards for children....

...blah blah blah.

We just returned from China.

They don't use toilet paper. They can't keep their car driving on the correct side of the road.

The government doesn't allow you to babble about Sirius Snape in your Livejournal, because it's so threatening to the Revolution.

And, we expect them to select the correct paint for Barbie?

So, it's 82 degrees today, which is not record-breaking, but kind of warm for Seattle, and warmer than it has been the past couple of days. There's a very light breeze, but the afternoon sun is bright.

Just spotted: a Cap Hill poser, skinny-ass white dude, ambling by wearing a grey hoodie.

A grey hoodie. With the hood up.
