'Twas a good day, all things considered. A new episode of Lilo & Stitch on Disney Channel (with an important message regarding the consumption of too many sugary cereals, and how this may lead to your growing big and bloaty, and thence getting eaten by a genetic mutation), and lots of silly items from the Japanese Disney Store waiting for me at the mailbox place.

This, for example, is a teensy weensy bobbledyhead mascot, great for hanging off of bookbag looking kawaii-ing.



Well, if you take it out of the plastic, anyway. Some day, they're gonna find me, wrapped in plastic.



This little guy, believe it or not, is a pull cord for you ceiling fan!



Observe: Stitch goes up, Stitch goes down, Stitch goes up, Stitch goes down...



Well, if you unwrap it. Which we won't. Because we are collectors, dammit.

And this delightful item is also from the J-Disney "Aloha Stitch" promotion.



For infinite recursiveness, it expands into a lovely hanging basket, in which you can store even more Stitch items!!!



But, you must take it out of the plastic.

Actually, the Stitch pull-cord is labelled "Good night, Stitch". I'm pretty sure it's a pull-cord for ceiling lights... in many traditional Japanese homes, people still sleep in the main room on futons, under the main room light. The room light generally has a pull-cord so that you can turn out the light from the comfort of your futon (or fairly close to it, so that you don't have to step on other people when making your way back to bed).

I love the Stitch basket! So functional!

Aha! All the English sellers described this item as a "fan pull," but that certainly doesn't look like a fan in the illustration. Thanks for clearing that up.
