Little devil
Aug. 17th, 2005 07:58 amIt's always Halloween at Casa de Tikistitch.
That is why we rejoiced to see the new line of Trick or Treat-themed merchandise at the Disney parks, which prominently features our favorite blue alien, fetchingly dressed as SATAN!

To obtain these two lovely ceramic items, the Stitch candy dish and cookie jar, Tikistitch Labs also performed a great experiment!!!!

Namely, we called Walt Disney World's direct line, and asked that they be shipped to us. As opposed to finding them on eBay, or from a shopping service like The Laughing Place, as has been our practice.

Our findings (soon to be written up in The Jounal of Applied Halloween Shopping) were as follows: personnel manning the phone lines are unfailingly polite, much up to the standards of The Magic Kingdom.

The computer system for the phone bank folks, to be quite technical about it, sucks, dooooood! If you'd like to call the parks to buy Stitchies, it's a good idea to know exactly what you want, be patient as the cast member searches the antiquated online catalog, and especially have a good book to read when the computer network completely freezes for unexplained periods of time.
But, we gots our Stitchies. Yay! And for prolly half the price of buying them on eBay.
Though, now to check our long distance bill....

Date: 2005-08-17 08:21 am (UTC)re: DeliverEars, they work best if they have like as much info as possible, especially if you can actually get the SKU number or whatever for the item. Which is next to impossible I think unless you've seen it elsewhere and had someone write it down for you. Folks over at World of Disney at DLR do have the DeliverEars number (usually available at the collectibles counter at the least) but yeah if they aren't sure what the item is, it's anyone's guess.
Can't say for certain with the folks on the phone though.. =)
Still neat Stitch! How did you find out about him (I haven't been to World of Disney to actually *look* in a long while).

Date: 2005-08-17 09:52 am (UTC)Oh, new items at the parks usually pop up on the online auction boards almost as soon as they're released. There must be people who shop the park nearly every day! So, if you scan eBay for Stitch, you'll usually see everything. There's a lot of other stuff in this series, including a devil Stitch antenna topper, and Lilo & Stitch mini beanies.
I thought of you....

Date: 2005-08-17 11:41 am (UTC)Disney Direct now has a hyper-expensive Enchanted Tiki Room Tree ceramic lamp/whatnot thingie that I've been drooling over. Maybe I'll tell my tiki-obsessive friend and let *him* buy it instead.
