Ewwww! We totally empty and wash out out *everything* food-related--cereal, candy, whatever. I've heard too many icky stories about ants.

One of our friends told us a story about opening a box of Frankenberry from the 70s. There was nothing left but some purple goo at the bottom of the bag.
