Bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!
Oct. 23rd, 2004 09:25 amIs it......ordinary Alice?

Nooooo, it's FANTASTIC ALICE!!!
Here's a question, does everyone in Japan communicate in superlatives? "How are you today, Hashimoto-san?" "Why I'm SUPER EXCELLENT!"
Alice is one of a series Jun Planniing is doing that might be called "Pullip dolls based on fairy tales and/or books by dead authors." The greatest thing about this: no royalty payments.

The upcoing dolls in the series are Pullip as Red Riding Hood and Namu as the Big Bad Wolf.

Fantastic Alice doesn't have a big furry boyfriend, but she does have a White Rabbit, and yes, he's got a MONOCLE (although, he doesn't seem to have a pocket watch).

She also has a deck of cards, featuring a picture of a rather fierce-looking Queen of Heats.

Here's Alice's card. Wonder if she's thinking about Namu dressed up as the Cheshire cat?

Date: 2004-10-23 10:51 am (UTC)Regarding the superlatives... actually, there was some controversy in Japan a few years back regarding the "degradation of the Japanese language", in which kids were adding superlatives to everything rather than expressing emotions through voice and tone. e.g. Instead of "I'm feeling awful", they'd say "I'm feeling super very bad".
I do love Fantastic Alice's props, though... bunny so cute!

Date: 2004-10-23 11:14 am (UTC)I have Anne Pullip too, somewhere. For whatever reason, she isn't on my "real" web page, Attack of the Anime Toys!, but so far I've managed to snag almost all the Pullip dolls.
