What is it about U.S. presidents and the inability to pronounce that word correctly? President Carter used to do it, too, and it drives me up the wall. I don't remember but I'm assuming the other presidents could get it right.
which begs the question.. IS Bush from Texas?? or has he just lived there long enough to pick up a faux accent?? No one else in his family seems to have this bizarre speach.
(granted I can pick up a Midwestern accent withint minutes of chatting my dad on the phone but I loose it within minutes doncha know!)

My dad, who's in his 70s, is from Brooklyn but moved to the west coast in his early 20s. You can still detect the Brooklyn in his speech, mostly when he's drunk or really, really mad.
