Barbie Goes Twilight

Mattel's released a Jacob Barbie! Check it out! on Twitpic

You have to click on it so it's not teensy and fuzzy. Unless you like your Twilight teensy and fuzzy.

I'm still mad about Palm Beach Sugar Daddy Ken.

Yeah. Like, maybe even tattered clothes with velcro that that could be pulled off easily? Or maybe include a small plastic wolf to be his "wolf" form? I dunno... I think they totally just skimped on him completely. Sigh.

A friend of mine has the Tonner Edward doll. I'm not 100% sure that I like Tonner male dolls, but it's just *so* nicely done! Just get the impression Mattel thought, "Eh, Twilight fans, they'll gobble up ANYTHING."

I've seen pictures of the Twilight Tonner dolls. But I'm really not into Twilight enough to know what's well done, and what's not. I read all the books in about a week, and quickly moved on to make sure they didn't sink in. I was unimpressed. But what I hate more than the actual fiction, is the fans. They can honestly just scare me. So I'm sort of under the impression that they really will gobble up anything. I mean, they made a sparkly Edward Cullen dildo that can be put in the fridge for the true cold vampire effect. I mean... when it gets to that level there's got to be something wrong with... Mattel making money off of it is totally just a given.

Hee. I own a Stitch television and a Stitch toilet seat - I'm in NOOOOOOOOO position to point fingers at any fandom! And I think it's kind of cool how certain bits of male fandom are annoyed ("OMG Twilight totally ruined Comic Con!!!"). And I have a couple of friends who are totally into it, so I'm like, hey, go for it, enjoy it. But, yeah, speaking of Comic Con, I got caught in a line of Twilight fans trying to win some raffle or something. En masse, it can be NOT PRETTY.

LOL. That's probably true. I may not have any right either, considering I own some pretty weird dildos. But mine aren't connected to a fandom, where you picture a certain actor during the act? I guess that's where my squick came from? ... moving on ... I always thought Comic Con was big enough that if you didn't like something, you could just sort of avoid it? I've never gone, just watch the G4 specials and live vicariously through others. But anything en masse can be scary. Even dolly people (maybe especially dolly people?). I was part of the Harry Potter fandom growing up, and I remember being in downtown London for the release of the 6th book. That was pretty crazy. And maybe Twilight is just the new Harry Potter and I'm too old for it now. Not really sure. But the Edward doll does have a fabulously preppy jacket that screams "I belong on a homosexual doll!" to me... and who am I to deny a Taeyang that?
